Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow...

Yup, still singing that song. And because it was gross out today, nothing really caught my eye to photograph. So I present you my outfit of the day.

I won't post OOTD often because I don't mean for this to be a fashion or a style blog, but shopping (and shopping for deals) are a favorite past-time of mine so these types of posts may show up a little more frequently than in the past.

Now let's get to the fun part...my whole outfit (minus shoes because I'm not wearing any above, haha) cost me $23 dollars!
 - Forever21 lace top: $22.80
 - The Limited skirt [similar here]: $1.00
 - Forever21 belt [from another dress]: 'free'

Oh, yes, you read that right. A skirt for a buck. I scored it at the Limited Sample Sale the other day. Last week everything was $5, but they had so much stock that they had another sale where if you checked out before noon, all items were a dollar. And as Honey Boo Boo would say, a dolla makes me holla!! (No, I have not seen the show but the phrase makes me laugh.)

Mission Impossible.

Yesterday's mission: To find fantastic bargains. Specifically, to find fantastic bargains in size xs or s.
Location of hunt: Within the never-ending boxes located at The Limited Sample Sale.
Reason: Because everything was 5 bucks. AND because I am crazy.

I love a good hunt, especially when a bargain is involved. The Limited Sample Sale is not for the faint or weary. I have been twice before so I consider myself experienced. I knew this time to inspect clothing more carefully as the clothes really are samples - damages, tears, you name it. (Yet somehow, I still purchased a defected dress. But one of out 29 is not bad. And yes, I said 29.) I also knew I would likely spend a lot of time hunting, so I carried a small light purse (and packed a bigger bag in it so that I had something sturdy to haul my purchases back home) and dressed in a maxi dress so I could slip things over and under me. With yesterday's (and today's) sale being touted at their biggest one yet, this was a challenge I was willing to take on.

The scene about 2 hours after it opened (and roughly an hour after my arrival when I deemed I needed to re-assess the mission.)

Just a small pile of my purchases strewn on my bed.

Some of my favorite finds: a white tie-front blouse (I had been holding out on purchasing a cheap one at Forever 21 because I never really liked the cut on any), a fun polka dot t-shirt, a chunky knit sweater, and a loose purple tunic.

There are definitely more finds to me photographed (about 20 something more) but since most are wrinkly, they are not photo worthy at the moment. Mission impossible? I think not. More like mission accomplished.

And just because I'm supposed to be posting daily photos, here is one from today that for some reason, I really like.

The Return of Me!!

Why hello there!! Long time no blog.  Real life has gotten in the way of my blogging duties but I have been taking photos as much as I can remember and now it's time to do a dump to free up space on my phone and update this sucker.

Work has kicked my ass in the last week. And the weekend before last was fun, yet super busy. So apologies for neglecting my poor baby blog and here we go...

Friday the whenever - oh the 18th:

Yes, I may have gone to the Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale again. And I may have gone during lunch.
And yes, I may have bought another bag :)

Only in New York...
top photo: baby & dog cart (seriously. dog had his/her section)
bottom left: Friday lunch hour @ Madison Square Park || bottom right: Eat at Mad. Sq. Pk.

left: Creative Grove
right: Jersey City fly girl (she has a twin and they're usually spotted together wearing some awesome outfit.)

Saturday the 12th:

en route to Staten Island via the x1 - part 1
(No family pictures to post but there was lots of meat, heat and babies.)

Then back to the City to see Death of a Salesman starring Philip Seymour Hoffman.
(Overall, it was okay. I wasn't quite in love with the character chemistry which I felt took away from the play.)

Then there was drinks and more drinks and a ride into Jersey City only to head back to the Island again the next morning. Stay tuned for part II of this post...

Fanatic.

Sometimes, I am a fanatic for shoes. Sometimes, I am a fanatic for clothes. And sometimes, I am a fanatic for bags. Clearly, I do not discriminate. After debating all of yesterday and much of today, I took the plunge and went to the Rebecca Minkoff sample sale.

Much to my delight, no line!!! And inside, was relatively ok. Until about 6pm.
Then it was so crowded I needed to start making a decision and get the hell away from all the women.

Let the hunt for my bag begin!

Just some of the beauties (and in my opinion, not some beauties).
So many bags and I walked around waiting for them to re-stock and I missed out cuz really, women are ruthless when it comes to shopping.

And those are the 2 beauties I decided would come home with me - welcome lovely ladies!
I really wanted a plum MAB and when I found the one above, she was the immediate winner.
I wanted a MAC too and it was SO HARD to choose but I settled on her since she was different from the "standards".

Sure, my two bags make me happy. And yes, I spent less than the price of one MAB's real price. but I seriously need to go back on a shopping hiatus. At least 'til my birthday? (Don't worry, that's only like 3 weeks, lol.)
