Just Can't Get Enough.

Does the title of this post have you singing the chorus of the 80s song by Depeche Mode? Haha, because I am and surely the song will now be stuck in your head and mine (you're welcome, hehe). Well, I just can't get enough of another 80s thing - NEON!!! Take a look at my loot (and mani pedi) from yesterday....

Still Weekend Recapping.

Where did I leave off? Oh yes, I was in Brooklyn. Besides Brooklyn Flea, my other goal was to take a ride on Jane's Carousel at Brooklyn Bridge Park. So we hopped on the ferry again for a quick ride, and took a spin and then did some jumping around [not pictured] and concluded our little adventure with much deserved drinks.

from left to right starting at top:Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, tickets to Jane's Carousel (only $2 a ride!),
horsies up close and personal, the prettiest view from a carousel,
schedule for movies in the park, a NYC wedding (I love stumbling across those),
Love Lane in Brooklyn Heights, the BK Bridge (after taking action shots in front of it)

Monday was all about the catching some sunshine with Sister and those pictures are have already been posted here. All in all, I'd say my much needed long weekend was kick ass :)

Weekend Review.

Working two weekends in a row was/is painful. But at least this one was a long weekend so I finally got my fun and relaxation in and didn't feel too jipped.

As soon as I was able to, I hightailed it out of the office to meet up some friends to sangria and tapas.

Sunday was all about Brooklyn. These pictures were all taken while riding the East River Ferry.

First destination in Brooklyn - the Brooklyn Flea in Williamsburg.

After stuffing ourselves, it was off to explore Williamsburg for a just a bit.
Gone is is the gritty that I remember from 10 years ago. Gentrification is what it's all about.
Yet, there was a lot of street art to be found.

Post to be continued...

If I Were...

....a season, I totally would be summer! (Although sometimes I prefer the fall more.) But summer means to me, slightly more relaxed work atmosphere, slower workload, ice cream, trips to the beach, sun-kissed skin (or sunburns like I currently have) and a overall general sense of relaxation.

Inspiration: My skin that smells like aloe (for the sunburn) and suntan lotion (to protect myself from any further sun damage.)

Other summer loves:

All photos courtesy of me(!) and my lovely and relaxing Memorial Day at the Shore.

Saturday Sunrise.

Another Saturday = another early-ass morning in the office. While I hate being at work so early in the morning, I am glad that the sun is already up and past the point of sunrise. Because there is nothing more I like than to be reminded how early in the morning it is. (Sorry for the dumb window glare. I keep forgetting about it.)

Every Friday.

Every Friday, I return to Jersey City to this - aka Creative Grove.

And it seems, that every Friday, I can't do anything at night because I have to wake up at 5am to go to work on a Saturday. To work ALL DAY LONG. But truth is, this is only (and final) weekend I will have to do this. Two consecutive weekends just seems like every weekend to me.

Friday Funny 05.25

What, pray tell, is that you ask? It's my Friday Funny picture - duh. Actually, that is how my local Thai restaurant packages my Thai Iced Coffee. When I am lazy (which is more often than I would like), I have Thai food delivered to me. Those clever and smart Asians decided to stick my coffee into a small chinese take-out container to prevent spillage. And it works!! Haha. When I first opened the brown bag, I wondered what the heck was in there and lo and behold, an un-spilled yummy coffee! What a funny way to transport a beverage but hey, it totally works.
