If I were...

...a good baker (and by good, I mean [a] I didn't burn cookies consistently [b] I willingly and wanted to bake from scratch and [c] I baked from scratch WITH patience and WITHOUT burning everything), I would love to make any of these:

yeah, bleh, blah.

I'm not a fan of fair isle except that I own the one from American Eagle. And I wore it twice already this week. Ok, so maybe I'm kinda a fan.

regular programming.

Crowded subways. Being at work before 7am. No midday naps. A full work week. Yeah, I'd say things are back to normal. Sadsies.

Day 1: Sunday, Jan 8

Day 2: Monday, Jan 9

Day 3: Tuesday, Jan 10

Day 4: Wednesday, Jan 11

Day 5: Thursday, Jan 12

Day 6: Friday, Jan 13

Day 7: Saturday, Jan 14

PS - This took longer to put together than my first blog post. Clearly, I am not a good or dedicated blogger.

PPS - This post looks ugly but I am just happy to finally post it. I will have to not obsess with its ugliness. Or I will and just not do anything about it.

new year, new me?

At the start of the new year, almost everyone makes a resolution or 2 or 10. I'm not going to lie. I am not one of those people. For awhile, I used to make a list of 10-20 things I wanted to accomplish in the new year and then never ever refer to it again (so as to not cheat) and then check again towards the end of the year to see if I did in fact want to keep those resolutions. I was lucky if I achieved 1/2 of my resolutions so last year I just stopped making that list.

I'm weird and like to make my list before the new year kicks in for this weird fear that if I make my list after the year starts, well, then, I am more unlikely to complete anything cuz it's been jinxed. Does that make sense? So yeah, no resolutions again. BUT there is this one thing I always say I want to do and that is learn how to make at least one Filipino dish each year. All I can make is chicken adobo. And rice. And technically the rice doesn't count since I learned how to make that at the tender age of 7....in a rice cooker! Haha. Anyway, I just stumbled across this site and added it to my never ending number of blogs in my Google Reader.

Oh but that isn't the real reason for the post. This blog/p-log is meant to document my life and thoughts and other crap via pictures therefore the real reason for this post is because upon stumbling aforementioned website, I saw this picture and found it hysterical. And so today's random nonsense.....

No caption necessary!

not your typical week

First, a couple of things you should know.
  1. I am not good at this taking pictures for a week thing. Even with an iPhone. Perhaps it's because I have to slide my phone in and out of it's case. I love my pretty MK case, but the fact I need to take it out all the time just to take a photo is a pain. I swear I want to cut a whole in the back but that's a story for another time. I digress...
  2. I love lists. I'm sure you'll see a picture (or 70) on this blog. That's how much I love them. I mean can't you tell already?
  3. The following pictures are not from a typical week of my life. It was the week from Xmas Day to NYE. reasons why it was atypical...
    • (haha, more lists)...I didn't have work for that week. No work = no routine.
    • I spent a part of my week off in DC/MD.
    • I intended to take pictures every day for aforementioned week, but I kinda stunk at it so consider that a trial run.
Day 1: Sunday, Dec 25 (aka Christmas Day):
Went to Church, came back and changed into pj's, ate, napped, ate, napped, & napped some more. Quite frankly, pictures of Home Alone, Santa Clause 2 & 3, and whatever movies we watched would be boring. Plus, I didn't have much energy (besides sleeping and napping) to do this:

Seriously, best Christmas Day gift of the year. I play my aunt all the time and she continually kicks my ass. And it makes me mad. I had never beat her until that day. And then I never beat her again, lol.

Day 2: Monday, Dec 26:
Best time of the year...post-holiday Target sales.

Day 3: Tuesday, Dec 27
My Siri is dumb. And I like to remind her each and every time she doesn't her me properly. Yet, I find her stupidity amusing. I'm pretty sure I told her "Remind me to give Casey - cd's, vases, and things for pedicure". Yup, she's a bright one.

Day 4: Wednesday, Dec 28
While someone was at work, I hid from the cold and did more of this...

Day 5: Thursday, Dec 29

My favorite place in DC.

Day 6: Friday, Dec 30

Mini road-trip to Annapolis in a fun Fiat. Highlight of my trip though...my Pantene purchase at CVS. Yes, it's a week later and I'm still proud of myself.

Day 7: Saturday, Dec 31 (aka New Year's Eve)

Day time visit to the Naval Academy campus. No Marines in uniform though. Sadsies.

Also, it was unseasonably warm again that day and I saw this...
Poor flowers. They're so confused.

Then there was afternoon tea! (Not to be confused with high tea. Totes different -yes, I said totes even though I think
it's stupid- different concept.)

And then...it was NYE afterall...fireworks! Ok full disclosure...these were the fireworks at 730pm. Yes, PM. At midnight, I was(1) busy wondering if the policeman that Jenny McCarthy kissed was married and if he was, was his significant other mad and (2) secretly hoping people wouldn't text me anymore so that I could be asleep by 1230. Which I was :)

PS - It took me almost 3 hours to get this post up. WTF?! There has got to be an easier and faster way to post these pictures to my pee-log. Clearly I am a beginner blogger.

the inspiration.

For a year, I've toyed around with the idea of starting a blog. Laziness and a thousand other excuses I gave myself is why it never came to fruition in 2011. Yet, it's that same laziness that has finally given me the push to start a blog. One can only procrastinate and be bored for so long, right?

And so, while on my kick of being productive and sorting/organizing though the many magazine clippings I had amassed over the year...the source of my re-inspiration to start a blog: Real Simple.

PS - Let it be known, this is pretty much similar to the idea I came up with last year and I insisted on calling it a plog or a P-log (pronunciation: pee-log, not plog) - which of course is a picture blog. I humor myself.

PPS - Here I thought I was being original. While trying very unsuccessfully to find the actual picture I thought I took of my inspiration to post on this blog, I ended up having to Google it. And *GASP*, there's a whole blog and a bunch of other challenges about "Week In the Life". *SIGH*. But nobody can steal the pee-log term from me. I hope.
