Just Can't Get Enough.

Does the title of this post have you singing the chorus of the 80s song by Depeche Mode? Haha, because I am and surely the song will now be stuck in your head and mine (you're welcome, hehe). Well, I just can't get enough of another 80s thing - NEON!!! Take a look at my loot (and mani pedi) from yesterday....

Still Weekend Recapping.

Where did I leave off? Oh yes, I was in Brooklyn. Besides Brooklyn Flea, my other goal was to take a ride on Jane's Carousel at Brooklyn Bridge Park. So we hopped on the ferry again for a quick ride, and took a spin and then did some jumping around [not pictured] and concluded our little adventure with much deserved drinks.

from left to right starting at top:Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, tickets to Jane's Carousel (only $2 a ride!),
horsies up close and personal, the prettiest view from a carousel,
schedule for movies in the park, a NYC wedding (I love stumbling across those),
Love Lane in Brooklyn Heights, the BK Bridge (after taking action shots in front of it)

Monday was all about the catching some sunshine with Sister and those pictures are have already been posted here. All in all, I'd say my much needed long weekend was kick ass :)

Weekend Review.

Working two weekends in a row was/is painful. But at least this one was a long weekend so I finally got my fun and relaxation in and didn't feel too jipped.

As soon as I was able to, I hightailed it out of the office to meet up some friends to sangria and tapas.

Sunday was all about Brooklyn. These pictures were all taken while riding the East River Ferry.

First destination in Brooklyn - the Brooklyn Flea in Williamsburg.

After stuffing ourselves, it was off to explore Williamsburg for a just a bit.
Gone is is the gritty that I remember from 10 years ago. Gentrification is what it's all about.
Yet, there was a lot of street art to be found.

Post to be continued...

If I Were...

....a season, I totally would be summer! (Although sometimes I prefer the fall more.) But summer means to me, slightly more relaxed work atmosphere, slower workload, ice cream, trips to the beach, sun-kissed skin (or sunburns like I currently have) and a overall general sense of relaxation.

Inspiration: My skin that smells like aloe (for the sunburn) and suntan lotion (to protect myself from any further sun damage.)

Saturday Sunrise.

Another Saturday = another early-ass morning in the office. While I hate being at work so early in the morning, I am glad that the sun is already up and past the point of sunrise. Because there is nothing more I like than to be reminded how early in the morning it is. (Sorry for the dumb window glare. I keep forgetting about it.)

Every Friday.

Every Friday, I return to Jersey City to this - aka Creative Grove.

And it seems, that every Friday, I can't do anything at night because I have to wake up at 5am to go to work on a Saturday. To work ALL DAY LONG. But truth is, this is only (and final) weekend I will have to do this. Two consecutive weekends just seems like every weekend to me.

Friday Funny 05.25

What, pray tell, is that you ask? It's my Friday Funny picture - duh. Actually, that is how my local Thai restaurant packages my Thai Iced Coffee. When I am lazy (which is more often than I would like), I have Thai food delivered to me. Those clever and smart Asians decided to stick my coffee into a small chinese take-out container to prevent spillage. And it works!! Haha. When I first opened the brown bag, I wondered what the heck was in there and lo and behold, an un-spilled yummy coffee! What a funny way to transport a beverage but hey, it totally works.

Only in New York.

Apparently there are a number of art installations in progress at City Hall Park. That's fine with me but I think this one isn't in progress any more. I mean, really,  what else can be added to it?

Quiz Time.

So my latest obsession is this game Logos Quiz. Love it!! These are obviously really easy ones, although I will admit, I thought Hello Kitty was trying to trick me so my initial guess was Sanrio. I will also admit I cheat just so I can unlock more levels and see what other logos there are :)

The Return of Me!! (The Final Installation)

The end of last week was KILLER! My patience, my sanity, my patience...oh wait I mentioned that...were all tested immensely. And I get to go through it again this week. Yay for me (please note the sarcasm). But, there was this...

A thank you treat from the client.
I've never had cupcakes from Baked by Melissa before (shocking since I love cupcakes) but my, my, they were tiny bites of delight!
They were given to me on Friday but I didn't have a moment to breathe so I ate them at work on Saturday. Wonderful!!

Though I missed the fabulous weather, I did get out of work while the sun was still up.
Heading to the subway I snapped pics of the Municipal Building (top) and the Frank Gehry apartment building (bottom).

Finally my one-day weekend came and, lord, did I need it.
The day was glorious - beautiful blue skies and perfect warm weather.
After dilly-dallying, I grabbed my phone, a magazine, and headed to my favorite spot to catch some sun and relaxation.
This was the perfect antidote to my crazy stressful week.

If I Were...

...a shape or a pattern, I'd be a chevron print! I know it's all the rage these days, but I admit, they are quite eye catching.

Inspiration: My dress, bought at some random NYC boutique.

The Return of Me! Part dos.

Still playing catch up! Now where did we leave off? Ah yes, I was returning to Staten Island for what seemed like the hundredth time in 24 hours, only to come back to have Mother's Day lunch in Jersey....

top left: Never can get enough Korean Food! || top right: I bap. You bap. We all love bimbimbap!!

Then there was the work week, which of course, was less than exciting. But these were some "highlights".

top right: Oh snap!! 108pt word for me! Which means I actually beat my aunt after two months.
bottom right: Delicious strawberry-banana frozen yogurt parfait. Emphasis on the delicious.

One more post to go...stay tuned for the final installation of The Return of Me! (Ha, I know my posts are that exciting and you're that anxious.

The Return of Me!!

Why hello there!! Long time no blog.  Real life has gotten in the way of my blogging duties but I have been taking photos as much as I can remember and now it's time to do a dump to free up space on my phone and update this sucker.

Work has kicked my ass in the last week. And the weekend before last was fun, yet super busy. So apologies for neglecting my poor baby blog and here we go...

Friday the whenever - oh the 18th:

Yes, I may have gone to the Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale again. And I may have gone during lunch.
And yes, I may have bought another bag :)

Only in New York...

bottom left: Friday lunch hour @ Madison Square Park || bottom right: Eat at Mad. Sq. Pk.

right: Jersey City fly girl (she has a twin and they're usually spotted together wearing some awesome outfit.)

Saturday the 12th:

en route to Staten Island via the x1 - part 1
(No family pictures to post but there was lots of meat, heat and babies.)

Then back to the City to see Death of a Salesman starring Philip Seymour Hoffman.
(Overall, it was okay. I wasn't quite in love with the character chemistry which I felt took away from the play.)

Then there was drinks and more drinks and a ride into Jersey City only to head back to the Island again the next morning. Stay tuned for part II of this post...

Fanatic.

Sometimes, I am a fanatic for shoes. Sometimes, I am a fanatic for clothes. And sometimes, I am a fanatic for bags. Clearly, I do not discriminate. After debating all of yesterday and much of today, I took the plunge and went to the Rebecca Minkoff sample sale.

Much to my delight, no line!!! And inside, was relatively ok. Until about 6pm.
Then it was so crowded I needed to start making a decision and get the hell away from all the women.

Let the hunt for my bag begin!

Just some of the beauties (and in my opinion, not some beauties).
So many bags and I walked around waiting for them to re-stock and I missed out cuz really, women are ruthless when it comes to shopping.

And those are the 2 beauties I decided would come home with me - welcome lovely ladies!
I really wanted a plum MAB and when I found the one above, she was the immediate winner.
I wanted a MAC too and it was SO HARD to choose but I settled on her since she was different from the "standards".

Sure, my two bags make me happy. And yes, I spent less than the price of one MAB's real price. but I seriously need to go back on a shopping hiatus. At least 'til my birthday? (Don't worry, that's only like 3 weeks, lol.)
