Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow...

Yup, still singing that song. And because it was gross out today, nothing really caught my eye to photograph. So I present you my outfit of the day.

I won't post OOTD often because I don't mean for this to be a fashion or a style blog, but shopping (and shopping for deals) are a favorite past-time of mine so these types of posts may show up a little more frequently than in the past.

Now let's get to the fun part...my whole outfit (minus shoes because I'm not wearing any above, haha) cost me $23 dollars!
 - Forever21 lace top: $22.80
 - The Limited skirt [similar here]: $1.00
 - Forever21 belt [from another dress]: 'free'

Oh, yes, you read that right. A skirt for a buck. I scored it at the Limited Sample Sale the other day. Last week everything was $5, but they had so much stock that they had another sale where if you checked out before noon, all items were a dollar. And as Honey Boo Boo would say, a dolla makes me holla!! (No, I have not seen the show but the phrase makes me laugh.)

Picture Potpourri.

Jager loves NY. So do I.
Let me be clear, I love NY, not Jager.

Mani pic of the week - Essie's Trophy Wife.
(Though I would think 'trophy wife' would be some type of gold or bronze color.)

Summer fashion meets fall fashion.

A perfect way to end a not so fun day at work - with the funniest little man (and cutest family) I know.
(I have no clear pictures of you child!! You move too much.)

No Name.

I can't think of a clever or simple name for this post. Guess the brain just doesn't want to work.

My ootd - green cardi from the Gap Outlet, pale green tank from Old Navy, mint green necklace from J.Crew, dark denim skirt by Necessary Objects. I'm fairly certain this outfit cost no more than $60 in total.
Random fact: I never used to wear green or own anything green. In fact, I thought it was a yucky color to wear. This summer, I added at least 3 green items to my wardrobe.

Bargain of the day - nude patent leather penny loafer flats.
Sure it's an old people brand but I don't care. They are actually comfy and even better, found them on clearance for $12.99.
God bless Century 21.

If I Were...

...a color combo, I'd be pink and orange! Or specifically bright ass pink and coral. I've been wearing this color combo a lot this summer and yes, while it is shocking to the eyes, it is also fun and cheery and summery!

If I Were...

...a theme, I would be nautical. Although, I cheat slightly because this post is inspired by yesterday's outfit. Anyway, my outfit didn't really scream nautical (there were no sailboats or boat shoes for that matter) but that's always what I think of when I wear some variation of the outfit.

Inspiration: yesterday's OOTD

Up Close and Personal.

Yes, another OOTD shot (because I thought it was cute) and an up-close shot of 4 World Trade Center.

Hot Pink Picnic.

First, things first. I'm going to make it my mission to be a better blogger. I've definitely slacked for the month of June and then some. So we're going back to basics...photographing every day, ordinary things. One may think that all my photos are ordinary things, and they really are, but truth is that as of late, more than often I've been going out of my way to find something worth photographing. Maybe that's one of the many reasons I've stopped blogging - I've put too much pressure on myself with these darn pictures.

So here we are...a style of picture found all over the blogosphere and goddamn internet as a whole: outfit of the day (or better known to the fashion/style obsessed - OOTD). I really love this dress from Target except the second I put it on, I feel like a picnic blanket. I don't feel like a picnic blanket because of how it fits (I actually find it flattering), simply because of the pattern. So what better way than to make it less picnic-y? Throw on a hot pink cardigan. Ta-da! A fun outfit that doesn't make me think ants would be attracted to my body :)
